1 – Wess, Inc. is family owned and operated. We are not corporately run and we seek to avoid needless red-tape and pointless requirements. We work hard at keeping things simple.

2 – Wess is a unique size. With a workforce of 40, we are large enough to have a substantial supply and service impact on the area, yet small enough to provide personal flexibility and accommodate individual preferences.

3 – Wess operates a very modern, well maintained fleet of trucks and trailers. One can take pride in driving late model, well maintained equipment which minimizes downtime. At Wess, each driver is assigned their own truck and trailer to operate.

4 – Wess is solid and stable. We have a very strong balance sheet and a great portfolio of long-term customers. We do not chase every load or opportunity that presents itself. Instead, we purposely build our business on solid, long-term repeat customers to create predictable, year-round workloads and a high ratio of back-hauls.

5 – Our drivers work where they live as we seek to park our trucks near the driver’s residence. Our goal is to have all drivers start and end their workday at, or very near, their homes.

6 – While we do offer some overnight scheduling and have some modest weekend or holiday driving needs, our primary model is built on a “Monday through Friday” work week and home daily. Weekend work, in most cases, is voluntary and carries with it a higher level of driver compensation.

7 – Flexibility. Our daily start times are largely determined by each individual driver. Some drivers start as early as 2 a.m. preferring to get done early. Others start later and prefer to work into the evening.

8 – Wess is willing to train the right individuals. If someone is new to HAZMAT or liquid fuels transportation, together we can explore what it may take to create a great career fit.

9 – Wess employs both company drivers and owner-operators as we provide driving opportunities in either format.
